What a buddy does

Helps your child work through a question

Your child tells the AI buddy where they are stuck. The buddy asks what they have tried, explains the idea, and works through a similar example. It then helps with their question, leaving a step for them to try. They get a way to continue, rather than an answer to copy.

Explains the answer when hints are not enough

If your child asks directly for the answer twice, or says they are out of time, the buddy gives it and explains how it was reached. Your child can follow the solution and see which steps to use on a similar question.

Helps your child correct a mistake

After two wrong answers in a game, your child is offered a hint and can try again. They keep the rewards they have already earned. There is no leaderboard comparing them with other children, so they can focus on understanding the question.

Gives extra practice on missed questions

Flash Cards use your child’s answers to decide what to review next. Cards they miss return sooner; cards they answer correctly are spaced farther apart. The app keeps track of the review schedule, so you do not have to sort the cards yourself.

Matches the work to your child’s grade

Choose your child’s grade, from pre-K through 4th grade. Games adjust the skills and difficulty they practice, and the AI buddy uses that grade to guide its explanations. You can change the grade in Settings when your child needs different work.

Reads instructions and hints aloud

The speaker button reads page instructions aloud, and games include spoken guidance and demonstrations. Your child can listen while following what happens on screen. This gives children who are still learning to read another way to understand what to do.
